Conversion Reshare Adjustment

Strengthening Long-Term Governance and Balanced Ecosystem Development

Thank you to everyone who continues to participate in River and contribute to its governance. The ongoing engagement and feedback from the community has played an important role in shaping how the ecosystem evolves.

Based on governance data and community input, a decision has been made to adjust the Conversion Reshare structure. This adjustment serves two objectives:

  • Align the incentive structure with long-term ecosystem development.
  • Balance the distribution across staking durations so that longer commitment is properly reflected.

Current participation data shows that the majority of participants opted for the 3-month staking duration. Short-term flexibility has its place, but when governance power tilts heavily toward shorter durations, it becomes difficult to maintain the stability and direction needed for long-term growth.

The total conversion pool remains the same. Nothing is being taken from anyone. The base output distribution now better reflects the commitment each staking duration represents.

Those who commit longer retain a larger share of their base conversion output, and carry a stronger voice in governance.

What’s Been Adjusted

  • 3-month option now keep 40% of their base output with 1x voting power.
  • 6-month option now keep 75% of their base output (up from 70%), with 2x voting power.
  • 9-month option now keep 87.5% of their base output (up from 85%), with 4x voting power.
  • 12-month option continue to receive 100% with 8x voting power. No change.

How Conversion Reshare Works

Numerical Example(1,000,000 River Pts)

Suppose 1,000,000 River Pts are converted on Day 120 at an ideal conversion rate of 0.01. For simplicity, integral adjustments are ignored and the ideal rate is used directly.

  • Input = 1,000,000 River Pts
  • Day 120 Conversion rate 0.01
  • Base Output : 1,000,000 × 0.01 = 10,000 Staked RIVER

The table below shows how the same 10,000 Staked RIVER distributes across staking durations under the upgraded reshare:

Staking Duration Conversion Reshare Receive
3 Months 60% 4,000 Staked RIVER
6 Months 25% 7,500 Staked RIVER
9 Months 12.5% 8,750 Staked RIVER
12 Months 0% 10,000 Staked RIVER

Each duration draws from the same base output. A longer commitment does not inflate the pool. It simply shifts a larger portion of the base amount back to the staker.

What This Means for Participants

The 3-month option remains fully available for those who need flexibility. For those willing to commit to 6, 9, or 12 months, both the tokens retained and governance influence improve proportionally.

A longer staking duration means a higher share of the base output and a stronger vote. Every staking position reflects not only an economic decision, but also the level of commitment to River’s long-term direction.

Building for the Long Term

River’s governance and growth depend on participants whose commitment matches the ecosystem’s ambition.

This adjustment ensures that the incentive structure and the ecosystem’s long-term direction are fully aligned, creating a more stable and resilient foundation as River continues to develop.

This adjustment applies to all conversions going forward.
